I was elected to be Phi Alpha Delta's Executive Publicity Chair for six months.
The previous chairs were focused on fun branding to up recruitment numbers. While this wasn't inherently an issue, the organization's professional standing was affected by it and other problems that had occurred.
Therefore, as the Publicity Chair I focused on sharpening the organization's professional image - both to students and those already in the legal field. I made it happen by:
• Completely rebuilding their website, retailoring it to be a front-facing window to schools and firms looking to work with us.
• Hosting career-focused workshops where people learned how to network and market themselves on LinkedIn, as well as organizing group Resume Review sessions with dedicated Career Services staffers.
• Responding to each and every message that our socials received in a timely manner.
• Designing and printing official shirts that looked clean and bold.
• Handling most flier/social graphics with an emphasis on being clean and readable.
I also managed a committee to whom I would delegate minor logistical and design tasks to.
Towards the end, I created a four page document detailing all of the responsibilities of the role for future publicity chairs, so that they might have a guide that I didn't have. You can check it out here!
My efforts were very successful and because of them we have partnerships with law schools that last to the current day.
